05 Sept. Hollywood and Dempsey Racing

The race track once again belongs to TAG Heuer and Hollywood. More than 40 years after the legendary king of Hollywood, Steve McQueen, starred in the iconic film Le Mans with the Monaco on his wrist, TAG Heuer has hit the asphalt again, this time teaming up with Patrick Dempsey.

Dempsey, the Emmy nominated Grey’s Anatomy leading man and popular Hollywood actor, is also a top-tier international racing driver and team owner of Dempsey Racing. Beyond a passion for speed, TAG Heuer and Dempsey Racing share values of performance, courage and an unwavering human spirit.

“This new partnership opens up great new perspectives for me,” Dempsey said. “It’s exciting but comes with pressure to succeed. Becoming part of TAG Heuer’s living legacy that goes back to Jo Siffert, Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost makes me humble. I will have to give my best and, as the famous TAG Heuer slogan goes, never crack under pressure.”

Patrick made his racing debut for TAG Heuer earlier this year at the most prestigious road race in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Racing alongside fellow team drivers, Joe Foster and Patrick Long he showed off his never give up attitude and passion for the race way.

“Pressure is manageable,” said Jean-Claude Biver, Head of Watchmaking Division at Louis Vuitton Moët Henessy (LVMH). “You have to believe, keep moving ahead, and put your heart into it. If you are willing to give your all, the world is yours.”

Through this new partnership, TAG Heuer has once again forged itself at the heart of motor racing. Passion, performance and a need for speed.

Spanning through the decades and worn by the legend himself, Steve McQueen, the TAG Heuer Monaco is a timeless icon. The TAG Heuer Monaco Twenty-Four Calibre 36 Chronograph is equipped with an Advanced Dynamic Absorber system protecting the Calibre 36 movement, with annular oscillating mass visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. The opalin black dial bears an oversized polished “24” at 12 o’clock, in honour of the 24 of Le Mans. The Monaco Twenty-Four features a fine-brushed and polished case, 100 meters water resistant available in a black alligator strap.
