18 Sept. Formula E - Drive the Future

A passion for fast cars is at the core of TAG Heuer, so when there was an opportunity to be a founding partner for a motorsport pushing speeds of up to 225kph and from zero to 100 in three seconds, TAG Heuer was there. But this time it’s different – these racing cars are electric.

The FIA Formula E Championship is the world’s first fully electric racing series and an exciting next step for TAG Heuer’s motor sponsorship. Formula E is the perfect partner for TAG Heuer as it supports the brand’s racing heritage and adds boundary breaking technological innovation.

Featuring ten teams competing in ten exciting rounds, the series will travel to cities including Beijing, London, Buenos Aires and Miami, thrilling spectators with engines producing a crowd pleasing 80 decibel roar, but with no pollution. The vehicles are constructed using zero-emission components made by the world’s top car manufacturers and constructors.

Each of the ten teams has two drivers hailing from a variety of top global championships – Formula One, Champ Car and Indy Car. Some of the biggest names in motorsport are entering teams including Andretti Autosport, Alain Prost’s Renault team and Audi Sport. Two of the twenty drivers are female.

The Formula E launched early 2014, in London with the entire fleet of 20 Formula E Spark-Renault SRT-01E single-seaters, on Westminster Bridge with Big Ben as the backdrop.

For a behind the scenes look at how these cars perform, here’s former F1 driver Jarno Trulli test driving the new Formula E car in France.

The season officially started on September 13 in Beijing with Brazilian driver, Lucas de Grassi, from team Audi Sport ABT taking out the top spot. We will keep you posted on all the action on our Facebook page. To follow us click here.
