In our second edition of
, we celebrate TAG Heuer’s breakthrough chronograph: the Carrera Mikrogirder.
This revolutionary chronograph was awarded the highest honour in watchmaking, taking out the highly coveted
‘Aiguille d’Or’ prize at the 2012 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.The mechanical Mikrogirder is accurate to
5/10,000ths of a second – a world first – and is regulated by a linear oscillating blade instead of a balance wheel
for the first time in watchmaking history!
We then take you to TAG Heuer’s home in Switzerland for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how your
TAG Heuer timepiece is made. Over the last few years, TAG Heuer has invested significantly in expanding its
manufacturing capacity. With a world class network of workshops and manufacturing plants, TAG Heuer now
produces its own movements, cases, dials and other key parts mastering vertically integrated manufacturing to
retail and cementing its authority as a world leading watchmaker.
We also have news for you on the arrival of three new exciting collection pieces: the Link Lady and the Carrera
1887 43mm (both previewed in the last edition of
), plus the new Aquaracer 500m Ceramic. All of these
new collections are now available for purchase from our Flagship stores in Sydney and Melbourne, along with
some exclusive pieces especially for our TAG Heuer collectors.
Adding to the excitement, visitors to our Melbourne and Sydney Flagship stores will also get a chance to discover
the Monaco V4 and Carrera Mikrograph, two of the haute horlogerie watches hand-made by our team in
Switzerland. There are only a select few of these watches available to purchase worldwide, so we’re thrilled to
have secured a limited number for the Australian market.
In September last year, we again welcomed TAG Heuer President and CEO Jean-Christophe Babin to Australia
for the launch of the new Link Lady at a special cocktail event hosted at our Sydney Flagship store. In addition
to celebrating our new Link Lady collection, the event was a wonderful opportunity for TAG Heuer to show its
strong support for UNWomen Australia, raising $10,000 on the evening!
Last November we further reinforced TAG Heuer’s long-standing association with Australian golf by continuing
our role as Official Timekeeper of the Australian Open at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney, following on from the
highly successful Australian Masters in Melbourne, and the Perth International in October.
In closing, it was wonderful to meet some of our Club 360 members atTAG Heuer’s recentVIP Golf Days held in
Melbourne and Sydney. Both events were a tremendous success and just one of the many opportunities available
exclusively for our Club 360 members.
I hope you enjoy this edition of
